right, so…

the blog, yeah.  sorry about that.  we got a little to into the whole twitter/facebook thing and let the blog go dead.  we’d swear that it won’t happen again, but we’re probably lying.

we’re getting geared up to work on new songs for the next release or two or three.  nothing’s set in stone yet, but it’s time to noodle a bit.

in other news, after a couple of dives into jango radio we’ve pulled in a whole bunch of new fans, so that’s exciting.

we’re also expecting to see the first round of sales numbers (i.e., September’s sales) next week, so perhaps there’ll be enough to do something crazy, like buy a beer.  we’ll also be able to see what we’re looking at in terms of donations to our chosen charities.

and that, dear reader, is all we have to say right now.

Rhapsody…

Rhapsody has taken the bait!  Super Kaiju Monster Blast is now available via them as well.  We’re down to iTunes, eMusic and a site called Shockhound that have yet to get on board.  Write your congressman!

off to the distributor!

skbm-coversuper kaiju monster blast has been submitted to Tunecore, the folks we’re using for digital distribution.  its expected go-live date is on or before: 09-Oct-2009.  have no fear that you’ll be the first to know when it’s available.

in the meantime, that right there to the right is a look at the final cover art.

it is alive!

Damas y Caballeros, super kaiju monster blast is done.  Once the cover art is complete (a matter of mere days) then the EP will be uploaded to Tunecore and from there it’s on to iTunes, Amazon, eMusic, Rhapsody and maybe a few others.  We will, of course, make all kinds of announcements once the album is available for purchase.

Sites like thesixtyone and facebook will be updated ‘ere long.  In the meantime, you can check out streaming versions of the songs at virb. Today is a rose letter day.  The actual red letter day will be once someone buys the damned thing :)

final mixing, honest and for true

I hate final mixing, I really do. The damned songs are done! Why must we go back over them endlessly trying to tweak that one little thing that no one is going to hear anyway?

Because it’s what you have to do. It’s necessary. Or as an old friend used to say, “It’s good for a person.” The tone was that of a parent explaining why you should eat your vegetables. Sigh.

In any case, unless everything has to be redone (or undone) tomorrow, 3 songs are in the can. With three more to go before we get to the next horrible “good for a person” stage… <said with a visible shudder> mastering.

right, so, mixing then

yes, it’s true. final mixing is now underway. technical difficulties involving “updated” drivers that disagreed with a particular persnickety powerbook contributed to a portion of the delay. but those issues have been addressed. rapid progress is expected!

behind schedule (or, bloodied but unbowed)

operation mix tweak is behind schedule due to the stupidity of day jobs and other commitments. but all is not lost. by the (overly) aggressive project plan we’re only 2 to 3 days behind. there’s still hope we’ll get there sooner rather than later. heave!

letters! we get letters!

well, not so far. but the lloyd-tones (and the infamous Hipdeep Records) now have a P.O. Box. So if you’re so moved, feel free to drop us a good old fashioned paper mail letter thingy at:

the lloyd-tones
po box 9543
austin, tx 78766

or, if you insist on being all digital, you can always reach us at contact (at) lloydtones (dot) com. please pardon the lame attempt at obfuscating the address. I’d like this one to remain safe from wild spambots harvesting it and the subsequent inundation by viagra offers and nigerian email scams.
